I had the pleasure of working closely with Geoff at R R Donnelley for several years where he was highly regarded as a truly committed professional. During those years Geoff also became my close friend and collaborator in the printing business. Geoff was always willing, eager to demonstrate his leadership qualities in taking the incentive to be the problem solver in situations large or small. He once confided in me how he loved being married to his best friend and the love of his life, Mira. Geoff leaves the world a much poorer place since the end of his long and brave struggle with that cruel disease. Go with God Geoff.

I worked with Geoff's wife Mira and met Geoff at a retirement party. He was a very interesting man, and I wish I had known him better. The most important thing I know about Geoff is that he made Mira happy. I am so very sorry for the loss of such a gentle man, Mira. My love and prayers go out to you and all of Geoff's family.

My Uncle Geoff was always a very sweet, reserved yet funny gentleman. My memory is that he was an awesome cook especially on the grill! You will be missed my Dear Uncle. But I know you are no longer suffering and are in good hands with Pop-Pop, Uncle Dave, Grandma and Grandpa Hawthorne, Grandma Sonner & Uncle Terry.
We love you and will miss you. We also know you will watch over us.
Love, Your Niece- Christina

I worked in the sales department for Rocco Farm Foods in Edinburg during the mid 80's with Geoff. There was only 4 of us selling all the chicken for a large operation; so we all became quite close; lots of hard work and lots of fun doing it. About 4-5 years ago, I had the pleasure of running into Geoff in Harrisonburg, speaking briefly, he wasn't quite sure who I was, so I went on sadly. About half hour later, he pops up in the mall, looking for me, saying "I got all the way to my car before realizing who you were! OMG!" We then had the best visit! So very sorry for your loss. God Bless!
