

He was the son of the late Frank H. and Marie Phillips Bush and was born Nov. 11, 1908 in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from high school in Brooklyn and attended the New York Sate Ranger School and the University of Idaho.
As a young man he served in the National Guard Field Auxiliary and the Signal Corp ROTC at college and in WWII in the Air Force at Fort Niagara, NY for a brief enlistment.
He was a timber cruiser; an engineer on parkway construction; then with the U. S. Forest Service; and was a Consulting Forester. He was a Forest Ranger on seven National Eastern Forests. He came to Harrisonburg in 1958 to serve as a district ranger for the George Washington National Forest.
He was a past member of the Harrisonburg Lodge of Elks No. 450; the US Air Force, the American Legion Post 27 of Dayton and attended the Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church, and was a volunteer with Rockingham Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
In 1931 he married Virginia Kuhn Bushm the mother or his four children. On May 3, 1958 he married Annie Grace Dickens who preceded him in death on May 22, 1986. In June 1987 he married Marjorie Alexander who preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 1998.
He is survived by four sons, Grant Bush of Burlington, VT, Jeffrey Bush of Springfield, VT, Neal Bush of South Carolina, Gregory Bush, Port Republic, and a number of grand and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 24, at the Chapel of the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Private burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery.
The casket will be closed and there will be no visitation.
It was a request of Mr. Bush that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgewater Home in his memory.
