He was born on February 8, 1977, in Alexandria and was the son of Wilmer L. “Bill” and Shirley (Walton) Kerns of Harrisonburg.
In 1995, Jacob graduated from Yorktown High School in Arlington and was his class valedictorian. He was also the star center for his high school football team. He attended UVA for three years and one year at Liberty University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He was a lover of music and enjoyed listening to all types. He was a member of the Truro Anglican Church in Fairfax, VA.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Mark Wayne Kerns (Susan) of Casper, WY, a sister, Susan Kaye Kerns of Mississippi, a brother, Robert Todd Kerns (Christine) of Great Falls, VA, a sister, Lynelle Madeline Kerns of Falls Church, VA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated, and a graveside service will be held 11 am, June 6, 2025, at Clover Hill Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Carmen Miller officiating.
