She was born on September 14, 1963 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Payne Newland.
Jeanette was married to William Nelson, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Newland and wife, Amanda, of Rockingham, Ashley Pacheco and husband, Jerry, of Grottoes, William Nelson and wife, Kayla, of Harrisonburg; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Elwood, Lynwood and Claude Halterman.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Minnick and Audrey Hendricks.
