Johnnie Louise Norris Mattichak

She was born on November 1, 1921 in Statesville, NC, and was the daughter of the late John and Carrie Williams Norris.

Johnnie lived in the Harrisonburg and Port Republic area for 52 plus years and was a long time member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church. She worked as a registered nurse in Newport News and was a volunteer at Sentara-RMH for 40 plus years. She enjoyed China painting and was an avid bowler.

She was married to David Mattichak, who preceded her in death on May 10, 2014.

She is survived by a son, Alan Mattichak of Port Republic; two grandchildren, Kathryn and Steven Mattichak both of Broadway.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Donaldson.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Harrisonburg Baptist Church with Dr. Rev. Mark White officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
