Kevin John Boyle

Kevin John Boyle, 61, a resident of Harrisonburg passed away early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2018 at his home after an eleven year battle with cancer. He was the youngest child of the late John and Pauline Boyle, born on June 6, 1957 in Palmerton, Pa. Kevin grew up in Lansford, Pa. and his family relocated to Easton, Pa., in 1969. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Green Pond, Pa. Kevin graduated in 1979 from West Chester State College, now West Chester University, and served as president of Friars Society. He was Vice President and General Manager of Harrisonburg Nissan, Vice President of Covington Nissan and Honda and Manager and Vice President of Staunton Nissan, Subaru and Hyundai. Aside from his professional life, Kevin was a member of the local Harrisonburg Lions Club and Harrisonburg B.P.O.E. #450; he worked closely with the Boys and Girls Club where he was a member of the Board of Directors, coached local recreation baseball, basketball, AAU basketball, hosted Harrisonburg Turks players and was an active committee member of Harborfest in Norfolk, while living in Virginia Beach. Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Jones Boyle; sons, Brian Connor and John Connor Boyle; siblings, Carol Notari and husband Robert, Dennis Boyle and wife, Mary, Diane Funsten and husband, Tony; mother-in-law, Barbara Jones, father-in-law, David Jones, and brother-in-law, David Jones, Jr. and wife, Freda; ten nieces and nephews, many close family members and friends. He fought for as long as he possibly could despite the many challenges and setbacks of these eleven difficult years. Kevin will be long remembered for his compassion and friendship to many. His ongoing legacy will be the positivity and strength he showed in the face of such adversity and the connections he made that will live beyond his life. He was a loving husband, father and friend, and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. A Mass of Resurrection will be held 9:00am, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Miguel Melendez officiating.
