

Mrs. Foerster was born in Harrisonburg on October 7, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Edna Funk Mason.
She graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1936 and Madison College in 1940 with a business degree. She worked at People’s Chevrolet in Harrisonburg.
She lived all her life in the Harrisonburg area and was a lifelong and active member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church. She was a volunteer member of the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Auxillary.
On May 24, 1941 she married Clarence Andrew Claybrook who died August 16, 1945. She married Edward LeRoy Foerster, Sr. on December 30, 1948. Mr. Foerster died June 3, 2006.
Lois is survived by two sons, Gerald Andrew Claybrook and wife, Sara of Cato, WI, Edward LeRoy Foerster, Jr. and wife, Carla of Port Republic, and one daughter, Jean Foerster Gearing and husband, Frank of Harrisonburg; three granddaughters, Lisa Claybrook Durocher, Katherine Gearing Sorensen, Jillian Foerster; four grandsons, Andy Claybrook, Brian Gearing, Ned Gearing, Nathan Foerster; five great-grandchildren; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Mason Shomo, Elizabeth Mason Bell, and twin sister, Elinor Mason Hart.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM, today (Thursday) at the home of her daughter, Jean Gearing, at Crossroads Farm.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 19 at Woodbine Cemetery, with Rev. Sam Jones officiating.
