
She was born January 13, 1918 in McKenzie, TN and was the daughter of the late Finis D. Madden and Willie Lee McGill Madden.
Louise spent her young life in Tennessee then moved to Washington, DC where she worked in the budgeting office for the U.S. Government attaining the level GS13, the highest ranking a female could achieve at that time. Following her retirement she moved to Culpepper then to VMRC in Harrisonburg.
She was formally active in the Home Extension Club. She loved to knit, crochet and quilt. Louise also loved to read, especially about healthy living.
Louise was a member of the Methodist Church in Culpepper and most recently attended Otterbein United Methodist.
Surviving are two nieces, Andrea M. Harriss and husband, David, of Murrells Inlet, SC and Faye Arnold Bennett of Paris, TN; a nephew, Charles D. Madden and wife, Wendy, of Summerville, FL; several great nieces and nephews and a special friend, Marge Ridgeway of VMRC.
Her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 1:30 pm Friday, September 12, 2014 at VMRC with Pastor Shirlee K. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the VMRC Compassion Endowment Fund.
