Mary Ann Bradshaw Clark

Mary Ann Bradshaw Clark passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. She was the daughter of James Watt and Genevieve Bradshaw, born on November 18, 1924, in Morgantown, West Virginia where she lived her early life.

Mary Ann was a long-time resident of Harrisonburg and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She attended Harrisonburg High School and Madison College.

On August 31, 1946 she married Henry Clay Clark who preceded her in death on January 11, 2013.

Mary Ann enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Spotswood Garden Club and the Garden Club of Virginia since 1966. She was an avid reader and started her day reading no less than five newspapers. With a feisty spirit and generous heart, she was a most loyal friend. Her gourmet cooking was known to all and she was a gracious hostess to family and friends welcoming them to their home and chalet at Bryce Mountain. Mary Ann’s creative talent and sense of style led her to design the original timeshare units at Massanutten Resort. A frequent traveler, she covered most of the continents and the majority of the English gardens.

Her surviving family includes sons Jeffrey Martin Clark and his wife, Esther, of Portland, Oregon and H. Clay Clark, III and his wife, Margaret, of Linville; grandchildren Joshua, Meghan, Martin, Patrick and Molly Clark; two brothers, V. Stephen Bradshaw and his wife, Christine, and James Watt Bradshaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, George Langford, a daughter, Susan Watt Clark, and sister-in-law, Mary Bradshaw.

The family would like to give special thanks to Connie Cubbage and Genevieve Franklin for their years of dedicated service to the Clark family. In addition, the family extends their gratitude to all the caregivers for their help and support.

A private burial service will be held.
