Mary Edith (Wean) Ryder

Mary Edith Wean Ryder, 78, of McGaheysville passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Harrisonburg Health & Rehabilitation Center. She had not been in good health for the last 12 years. She was born on April 8, 1940 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Claude and Bertha Sites Wean. Mary was a homemaker and had been a lifelong resident of the McGaheysville and Harrisonburg areas. On May 28, 1976 she married James Edward Ryder, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Mary “Libby” Campbell and fiancé, Bert Gaona of Elkton; a grandson, Matthew Campbell of Elkton; and a niece, Minnie Shaffer of Elkton. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. A service will be held at a later date.
