A son of the late James E. and Alice Reedy Ellis, he was born on February 18, 1943, in New Market.
Mike spent his early life in New Market and later moved to Harrisonburg and most recently Elkton.
He graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1962 and Smithdeal-Massey Business College in 1969 in Richmond and had been employed by Davenport Insulation for 21 years as a salesman.
Mike was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Shenandoah, Harrisonburg Lion’s Club and Shenandoah Valley Home Builders Association. He also proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1962 – 1966.
On July 24, 1982, he married Miriam L. Ellis, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Jennifer Paige Padrick, and husband, Greg, of Westminster, MD, Virginia Fulginiti and Catherine Fulginiti, both of Elkton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Stromie Ellis, of White Plains, MD; two sisters, Barbara Armstong, of Harrisonburg and Sandra McMeans and husband, William, of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ellis and Spencer Ellis.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 3:30 pm at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg, with Revs. Joe Amend and Anne Sisson officiating.
