Shirley Faye Thompson

She was born in Harrisonburg on July 9, 1946 and was the daughter of the late W. E. “Willie” and Treva Shifflet Thompson.

Shirley lived her entire life in Penn Laird and Harrisonburg and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1965. She was office manager at Lindsey Funeral Homes for 48 years before retiring.

She is survived by a sister, Patricia A. Foster and husband, Donnie, of McGaheysville; a brother, Don Thompson and wife, Janet, of Harrisonburg; two nephews, Jeff Foster and Mark Thompson; one niece, Cheryl Griggs; two great-nephews, Eric and Will Thompson; one great-niece, Lisa Foster; one great-great- nephew, Cody Wilcher; and her special cat, Ginger.

At her request, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Rev. Wayne Wright and Rev. John Glover officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
