Sue Traver Engel

A daughter of the late Jacob and Lorraine Traver Bryan, she was born on January 15, 1923 in Williamsport, MD. She graduated from Williamsport High School and Towson Teacher’s College in 1945.

Mrs. Engel was a school teacher in Baltimore, MD, Hagerstown, MD, and St. Joseph’s School in York, PA for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she was active in CCW.

On July 9, 1945, she married J. Anthony Engel, a professional engineer, who preceded her in death on September 22, 1995. Surviving is one son, J. Gregory of Keezletown, and one daughter, Susan E. Dulichan of Whitehouse Station, NJ; six grandchildren; Sarah Engel Campbell, Adrienne Elise Engel, Paul J. Engel, David Benjamin Engel, Andrew Matthew Dulichan and Terry Engel; three great-grandchildren, Gage Engel, Myah Campbell, and Adalyn Campbell.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Jan Terrence Engel, John Traver Engel, and Michael Engel.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday evening, April 19th at 5:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Tom Mattingly officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg is handling services.
