OBITUARY

Ethel Maude Evans

September 15, 1931April 15, 2021

Ethel Maud Hopper Evans, age 89, departed this life April 14, 2021 at Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation of Harrogate, TN. She was the daughter of the late James Verlin Hopper and Matilda Owens Hopper. Siblings are Charlene Hopper, Hazel Hopper, Marie Sowders, Connie Hopper, Allen Hopper, Boyd Hopper, Carl Hopper, Tunney Hopper, and Victor Hopper. Survivors are son Ernie Evans of Speedwell, TN. Grandsons Ernie Evans Jr. of Middlesboro, KY. and Roger Evans of Vancouver WA. Special nephew Jim Bass, who as a youth spent his summers with Ernie. He was a brother Ernie never had. Mother treated him as her own. She lived in Speedwell for 67 years and was a member of Carrs Chapel Baptist Church. An employee of Imperial Reading for 31 years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Edward Evans. Ernie Evans would like to extend a very special recognition to Brenda Ellison and the caring staff of Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation of Harrogate, TN. for the love and care shown to Mother. There are so many to be grateful for in Mother's care. A special recognition to Amedisys Home Health Care of Harrogate, TN. for the many, many years of care given to Mother from all of the staff, physical therapy, nursing staff, and CNA's. Mother loved you all. The family will receive friends Sunday April 18th from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate. The funeral service will be at 1:30 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Harrogate. The graveside service will follow in the Evans Family Cemetery. Minister: Singer: Joseph & Robin Hensley; Pallbearers: Chester Ellison, Jerry Ellison, David Ellison, Jeff Rogers, David Rogers, and Kenny Rogers Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate is in charge of arrangements.
