David was a veteran of the US Marine Corp, serving from 1989 to 1997; and assisting in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He then served the community of Claiborne County as a Paramedic with the Claiborne EMS for 26 years.
David also served his community as a Boy Scout Leader, and was a Deacon at Little Valley Missionary Baptist Church; where he was loyal member.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Bennett and Marthina Marshall Bennett.
David leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Tena Venable Bennett; his two sons, Kenneth Michael & wife Caitlin and Benjamin Scott; and four grandchildren, Jessica Bennett, Ryker Bennett, Colton Bennett and David Russell Bennett. He also leaves behind his two brothers Paul and John & wife Johntelle; and sister, Elizabeth Noah & husband Phillip. David was loved by many, who he loved in return.

The family will have a graveside service Sunday April 14th at 1 PM in the Liberty Cemetery with full Military Honors and everyone is welcome. Please meet at Coffey Funeral Home between 12:00 and 12:15 to go in procession.
