Mary Ellison

Mrs. Mary E. Ellison, age 91, of Harrogate, TN was born January 17, 1923 and passed away on October 24, 2014. She was a long standing member of Indian Creek Baptist Church having joined there and was baptized May 12, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John W. Ellison to whom she was married on September 9, 1939; parents, Sidney John Bruce and Bessie Lee Hurst Bruce; sisters, Mary Ruth and Thelma Jean; brother, Al Thomas and grandson, Floyd Douglas Jr. She is survived by five children: Janette (Wayne) Mason, Leonard Ellison, Wayne (Sally) Ellison, John D. Ellison, Doug (Madeline) Ellison; grandchildren, Rick (Kassandra) Mason, Terry (Sandy) Mason, Tammy (Brian) Berber, Suzannah Mason, Theresa (Todd) Hall, Joanie (John) Wagner, Julie (Nick) Mathews, Katie (Roger) Helfen, John (Tonisha) Ellison, Larry (Cherial) Ellison, Natalie (John) Probus, Lisa Judd, Shellie Sanchez; twenty-three great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Mary loved canning and was proud of her dairy. She also loved her church, pretty flowers and visiting family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4-8PM Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate with funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with her pastor, Rev. Steve Moyers officiating and her longtime friend, Rev. Stuart Fultz reading her obituary. Music provided by Indian Creek Church Choir and special songs by Billy Cunningham and Inez Middleton.

Graveside service held at Shoffner Cemetery at 11:00AM Monday, October 27, 2014 with Pallbearers: Rick and Terry Mason, John and Larry Ellison, Sean Ellison and Steven Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers: Todd Hall, John Wagner, Greg Pendleton, Jonathan Ellison and the Mmen of Indian Creek Church.
