Rosa Ella Standifer Massengill (91) went to be with her husband, Marshal, on February 10, 2019 in heaven. She was born on December 13, 1927, the oldest of 6 children to Vergia Marie England Standifer and Grade Standifer which proceeded her in death. She was raised and lived her entire life in Harrogate TN, Claiborne Co. She married Marshal Massengill on December 26, 1943. Her husband and father to her children, Marshal, passed away December 18, 1996. Three of her siblings Laura Mae Miracle, Joe Vance Standifer, and Hazel England also preceded her in death. She has 5 children: Doug (Mary Ann) Massengill, Richard (Karen) Massengill, Charles Marion (Patty) Massengill, Sherry (Dan) Pearman and Teresa (Tommy) Montgomery. She also have 10 grandchildren: Michael, Kim (Hank), Jennifer (Brian), Bryan (Lindsay), Jamie (Jenni), Jeremy (Brooke), Raegan (Kris), Michele, Bob (Misty), Brad (Brittney), 20 great grandchildren: Angela, Dalton (Rachel), Garrett, Anthony, Alex, Sammy, Dane, Kendra, Lakyn, Charly, Jaxson, Everhett, Bryce, Corley, Cade, Abby, Brady, Gabby, Jaden, Jalyn, and 3 great - great grandchildren: Carson, Jeremiah, and DJ. She has two younger sisters Barbara McKenzie (Rick) and Betty Thompson. She has many nieces, nephews and their family that she loved plus all the friends of her children through the years. Her family and extended family were her life. Between her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren there is every profession you can think of in her family, too many to mention. She was a teacher aid in Claiborne Co Schools. She was raised and raised her family at Pump Springs Baptist Church in Harrogate. Her hobbies were quilting, gardening, baking and enjoying her family. She was a very good cook and baker. Before she went to heaven, she loved to play bingo, listen to music and making jewelry at Maple Court Assisted Living in Powell, TN. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Coffey Funeral Home, Harrogate, TN. Funeral Service will follow at 7 pm officiated by Hollis Whitaker and Ronald Lambert. Sarah Chumley will be the singer. There will be a Graveside Service 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Riverview Cemetery, Harrogate, TN. Her grandsons great grandsons will be the pallbearers. The family wants to thank all the employees, staff and other families of Maple Court Assisted Living and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for making mom’s last years a great time and caring for her. Teresa and family , I am so sorry to hear this. Sounded like she lived an active life and now she is receiving her Heavenly reward!! I would have love to seen some of her jewelry, i am aure it was beautiful. Prayers for you and family.
