Vergil K Minor

Vergil K. Minor age 87 of Jonesville, VA was born December 5, 1929 and passed away August 16, 2017 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was a member of Thompson Settlement Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon in 1983. Vergil worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation, retired to owning and operating his own business. He loved his farm and was a talented wood worker , but most of all he was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn “Babe” and Ocie Jerrell Minor; father and mother-in-law Harrison and Paralee Miracle Wilder, brother-in-law Wallace Kirkland; son-in-law James Lee Brotherton

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Margie Minor

Daughter: Judy Brotherton Keller and husband Stevie

Sister: Juanita Kirkland

Brother: Glen Minor and wife Janice

Special Niece: Okey Cope

Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday August 19, 2017 at Harrogate United Methodist Church where Vergil’s daughter Judy Brotherton Keller is Pastor, with funeral service to follow at 7 P.M. at the Church. Burial at 3 P.M. Sunday August 20, 2017 at Snodgrass-Minor Cemetery in Virginia.
