Ann Morton Drews

Born in 1937 in Lincoln, England, she began her professional life in the bustling energy of New York City in the early 1960s. There, she worked as a model and dental assistant, embodying the style and sophistication of that era. Her time in New York left a lasting mark, shaping her lifelong appreciation for fashion, beauty, and service to others.

In the late 1960s, while traveling, she met the love of her life Delmer Drews in Damascus, Syria. Their meeting sparked a beautiful partnership that became the foundation of her family. She transitioned into the roles she cherished most: devoted wife and full-time mother. She poured her heart into raising her children with love, warmth, and encouragement, creating a home filled with joy and cultural richness.

For the last 20 years of her life, she found great fulfillment volunteering at the Strand Theatre, where her enthusiasm and dedication enriched the community and supported the arts she so deeply loved.

Ann had a soul that celebrated the world’s diversity and beauty. She delighted in wearing clothing from different cultures, expressing her open-hearted embrace of global traditions. A passionate dancer, she especially loved moving to the lively rhythms of big band music. She was a steadfast supporter of local musicians and the arts scene. Nature was a constant source of joy for her — she loved gardening and spending time outdoors, finding peace and inspiration in the natural world. An accomplished painter and artist, she brought color and creativity to everything she touched, whether on canvas or in daily life.

She is survived by her two sons Kenneth and Mark Drews, daughter in law Dory Michell and many dear friends who were touched by her kindness and vibrant personality.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.

Her family will remember her not just for the many roles she filled with excellence, but for the way she lived — with an artist’s eye, a dancer’s joy, and a mother’s unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of beauty, curiosity, and warmth that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
