Ardell Marie Root

Ardell was raised in Many, LA by her parents, George and Susan Remedies. She was the second of thirteen children. Family was special to her and she remained close to all of them. She was spirited and full of energy and enjoyed cooking, hosting family as well as gardening and her chihuahuas.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dave M. Burke and daughter, Betty Wetzel.

Ardell is survived by her children, Ardell Daniel and husband Phillip, Paul Sneed and wife, Suk Mi and Elizabeth Peacock and husband Gerald; son-in-law, Pete Wetzel; grandchildren, Stacy Nugent, Margo Nugent, Lori Nugent, Leslie Michelle King and husband Mike, Billy Wayne King and wife Tanya, Stormy Wicks, John Longron, Linda Davidson, Vivian Brunk, Paul Sneed, Jr., David Sneed, Matthew Sneed and Hunter Sanders; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Brock and Theresa Wiles; brothers, Johnny Remedies, Robert Remedies and wife Betty, Larry Remedies and wife Linda, and Gene Remedies; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 9:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am with Deacon Jeff Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the park.
