The honor of your presence is requested on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at First Baptist Bossier, Bossier City, Louisiana, where family and friends will come together to give honor and praise to the Lord for the beautiful, loving and Godly life of Barbara Joyce Gilmer, a woman who truly knew God and faithfully walked with Him for seventy-eight years. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, prior to the service.
Barbara’s passion was living for God. She committed her entire life to untold hours of prayer and to the study of the Word of God. It is said by countless numbers of people, that the moment they met her or were around her, “they felt the ‘Jesus’ inside of her”. He lived in her heart, was always on her mind, mentioned in every conversation and was radiant in her sweet smile.
Barbara Gilmer was an angel on earth and now an angel in the presence of God! She accomplished her life’s goal and received a crown of righteousness that will never fade away. She is survived by her loving family, along with untold numbers of spiritual sisters, brothers and children.
Barbara will truly be missed by all who were blessed to know her. Some only brief and others for a lifetime. Her life and memory will live on forever in each of our hearts and lives.
If there ever was a true and proverbial woman, Barbara Gilmer was one, indeed!
