She was a retired Minister's wife, working faithfully beside her husband for many years, helping him build, establish, and pastor from the east coast to the west coast and in between. She loved her family, including all the grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
Betty is survived by her children, Jeffrey Lynn Chavis and wife Carol, Rebecca Darlene Madrigal and husband Juan, Anthony Laverne Chavis, James Ray Chavis and Eric Cameron Chavis and wife Shannon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Howard Chavis; daughter, Donna Faye Chavis and son, Marion Tyrone Chavis.
Services to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Open Road Fellowship Church, 780 Bodcau Station Rd., Haughton, LA at 1:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM prior to the service. Betty will be interred beside her beloved husband, Marion, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, 2111 W. Pinhook Rd., Lafayette, LA.
