Betty Sue Roberts Gates

Betty Sue Roberts Gates, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 06, 2010 in Bossier City, LA. Betty Sue was born on September 22, 1937 in Shreveport, LA. Upon retirement as a nurse at Willis Knighton hospital, Betty Sue and her husband Jim enjoyed many hours with their children and grandchildren. Betty Sue was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren. She loved to shop on QVC and really adored her cat “Smutt”.

Funeral service will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home Monday, May 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Brother Billy Pierce officiating, interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Hill Crest on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

Betty Sue is preceded in death by her parents Joe Roberts and Armenta Roberts Hollenshead, stepfather, C.W. Hollenshead, and daughter Vickie Hebert. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, James Gates, daughter, Karen Bissell and husband Randall, grandchildren Taylor and Brandi Bissell, brothers J. Scott Roberts, Robert E. Roberts, Tom Hollenshead, and Richard Hollenshead, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty Sue was blessed with a circle of loving friends.
