

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services celebrating the life of Betty Jo “Granny” Phillips, 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel officiated by Bro. Todd Pickard. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
Betty was born in Hot Springs, AR on June 11, 1924 to John and Coy Goza and passed away on January 11, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. She retired from food service within Bossier Parish School Board. Betty was a member of Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren, fishing and reading. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; C.L. “Pappy” Phillips, sister; Charles Faye Kilough, brother James “Jimmy” Goza and son-in-law Lawrence Franklin Vanderpool.
Betty is survived by her son Steve Phillips and wife Patricia, daughters; Phillis Washeleski and husband Joe, Sharon Snodgrass and husband Ted and Mary Vanderpool, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brad Darner, Hayden Thorn, Joe Washeleski, Eric Phillips, Greg Flowers and Todd Snodgrass.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Care Center for the care and support they have shown Betty.
