Beverly Ann Cole

Beverly was born on February 27, 1953, in St. Louis, MO before moving to Shreveport, LA as a child. She worked for nearly 30 years at her mother and father’s café, The Industrial Coffee Shop. Many of her daughter’s memories revolve around The Café, as they referred to it: sitting beside their mother at the counter folding silverware, dipping pudding into dessert bowls, begging for quarters to feed the pool table or jukebox, and relishing fried chicken-Thursdays.

Beverly’s life was defined by her devotion to family. Her 50-year marriage with her husband, Steve, was built on loyalty and perseverance through tough times. Their joy was spending time with their daughters’ families. It seemed Beverly always had a grandchild in her lap or one snuggled close, and she often travelled a great distance to be there for special occasions and holidays.

In the years that follow, Beverly’s colorful afghans will bring back warm memories of a Mama and Mamaw who gave her love, attention, and affection until she no longer could. When she mostly lost the ability to communicate, she could still say, “I love you.”

Beverly enjoyed gardening, baking bread, taking walks with her daughters, crocheting blankets for her family, and helping Steve cater fish fries. She loved flowers, butterflies, birds, and the colors of fall leaves. The family asks that we honor her love of all things colorful at her service; no need to wear black unless you want.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, her parents, Edna and Henry Barajas, her sister, Carrie Walker, and her brothers, Ricky Rinehart and John Howell.

She was a beloved mother to Christina Parrot and Korina Michelle Roberts and mother-in-law to Jason Parrott and Thomas Roberts. She was a cherished grandmother to Chelsea and her husband Justin, Hannah and husband Logan, Caleb and wife Kaitlyn, Faith and betrothed Cade, Haley and husband Jake, Kyndall, Lauren and husband Colton, Thomas Lane, Brandon, Isaac, and Elinor. She was blessed to have welcomed great-grandchildren, Dallyn, Samuel, Sean Thomas, and Theodore before she departed.

Beverly will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and customers of The Café.

The visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. directly followed by a memorial service at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana. A light-fare luncheon to visit with family and friend to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
