Billy James George, age 89, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025.
A graveside service for Billy will be held Monday, November 10, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana 71037 with Jeff Harper officiating.
Billy (known as Bill) was born in Union, South Carolina on December 23, 1935 to Willie and Edna George. He met and married the love of his life, Betty while he was in the Air Force and stationed in Colorado. He had two sons, William and David and his great granddaughter Chasity. Bill was in the Air Force for 20 years before he retired in Bossier City, Louisiana. Bill got a job in the extermination business and did that for years before he opened up his own Company, Tri-State Exterminating Co. with his son David. He owned and operated that business and worked full time until 2020 when he officially retired.
Bill was very active in the Masons (Master Mason and Past Master), Scottish Rite (White Hat), El Karubah was a member of the Patrol Unit (Past Potentate and Chaplin). Bill was also on the Shriners Hospital Board.
Bill was a very personable man. He made friends easy and really liked to be around people. His family meant the world to him. Bill had an associate degree in wildlife management and he loved nature. He loved to go to his lake house and fish and did it whenever he got a chance.
He is preceded in death by his parents: his wife Betty George and grandson, Nathan George.
He is survived by son William George and wife Brenda; son David George and wife Holly; grandchildren Bryan George and wife Maggie and Michael George and wife Tahnee; great grandchildren, Chasity Castoe and husband Jesse, Dalton George and wife Chelsea; great-great grandchildren, Ashton, Ivy, Brody, Ava, Kye, Eli James, Olivia, Piper and Teagan, and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home and Hospice Care for their kindness and care.
