Billy Woods Jr.

Billy was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved Alabama football, golfing, music, spending time at the beach, and making memories playing games outdoors with his family. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family. His greatest joy was the life he shared with his beloved wife, Penny, and the family they built together. He especially enjoyed being surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister, sisters-in-law, and extended family. Billy was known for his quick wit and sense of humor and was always joking, bringing laughter to those around him. He also had a special love for his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Lynn Woods (née Burgess); his children, Sean Russell Picard and wife, Erica Picard, and Bradley Lynn Byrd and wife, Anne Marie Byrd; his grandchildren, Bradyn Byrd, Paisley Byrd, Willa Picard, and Emmalyn Picard, who affectionately knew him as “Tah”; his sister, Dora Wallace and husband, Claude Wallace; his beloved sisters-in-law, DeAnna Bass and Mary Snyder; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Gene Woods, Sr. and Arrie Woods.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, LA 71037. Funeral services will follow from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Billy will be remembered for his love of family, his laughter, his love of sports and music, and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
