Minden, LA – Bobby Wayne Lewis, 81, passed away on January 29, 2025. Though he was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Bobby quickly became a lifelong resident of Louisiana, where he built a career in telecommunications, working with dedication and expertise for many years.
Bobby was married to the love of his life, Ann Lewis, for 62 years. Their enduring partnership was a testament to love, commitment, and the strength of family. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Rick Lewis, Rob Lewis, and Laura Lewis Nelson. Bobby also welcomed Laura’s husband, Loyd, and Rob’s wife, Monica, into the family with the same warmth, love, and signature sense of humor that he shared with everyone he met.
Beyond his professional life, Bobby had a lifelong passion for classic cars, spending countless hours admiring, restoring, and sharing his enthusiasm for vintage automobiles. A devoted enthusiast, he subscribed to Hot Rod Magazine for over 50 years, always eager to keep up with the latest in the world of classic cars. His appreciation for craftsmanship extended beyond automobiles—he poured that same dedication and attention to detail into the log home he and Ann built, decorated, and cherished together.
He was a devoted grandfather to Chandler Nelson Beard, her husband Jesse, and Meredith Nelson Spillers along with her husband Chase and a proud great-grandfather to Lucy, Judah, Lincoln, and Margot. His love for his family was unwavering, and his legacy will live on through the generations he cherished.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Benoyd Felix Lewis and Helen Jewel Lewis, as well as his beloved sister, Angela.
He will be dearly missed by Ann, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister, Roxanne, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Haughton Cemetery in Haughton, LA at 2:00 pm.
