Faye was born in Crossville, Alabama on May 12, 1933, to Irby and Velma Luther. At the age of 9 she became the sister to triplet brothers. The family was living in Gadsden, when she met the man she would marry and spend the next 69 years with, Alton McDougal. They were a military family, living in Alabama, Florida, and Japan before moving to Bossier City. Along the way, they had 5 daughters and one son. While living in Japan she learned the art of Bunka Shishu, a form of Japanese embroidery, making beautiful pieces of art that are framed and hanging in her home today. She stayed at home with the children when they were young, but in later years worked at JCPenney, Jordan and Booth, Rubenstein’s, and the Post Office Employees Federal Credit Union. She also made most of her and her daughters’ clothes when they were young. Faye loved working crossword puzzles, going to church, and singing in the choir. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Haughton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alton W. McDougal; daughter, Sherilyn Park; son, Alton Lee McDougal; grandson, Brandon Montelbano; son-in-law, John Pinckard; brothers, Gary, and Larry Luther.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marsha Pinckard, Nina Stratton (Gary), Teresa Boone (Sonny) and Laura Phillips (Hutch); her brother, Jerry Luther (Becky); sister-in-law, Linda Luther; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks to Christie Crosby and Tad Christie, special friends of the family.
