Brendan Garrett Owen

I am so heartbroken to announce the passing of my precious and only son Brendan Garrett Owen “Brent” (Age 54) on May 31, 2026. Brent was born Oct. 9, 1971, in Bossier City, LA and grew up in Haughton, LA. He passed due to Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease. Brent was born with some disabilities, but he never let them slow him down. It might have taken him a little longer, but he had patience and perseverance and always accomplished his goals.

Brent attended Haughton schools and was a member of First Baptist Church of Haughton. He was a Christian who professed that God was in his heart. He was a kind and thoughtful person who would help anyone in need. He was a loyal and faithful friend.

He was preceded in death by his beloved sisters, Christy Lea Fieldson and Jennifer Elizabeth Owen; stepfather, Steven Grider; maternal grandparents, John and Rosa Edwards and paternal grandparents Herman and Madge Owen.

He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Edwards Grider; daughter, Haley Cheyenne Owen; niece, Lauren Swenson (Codi); nephew, Zachary Talbott (Kayleigh), and many other friends and relatives. He will be missed more than words can express.

I want to give special thanks to my nephew, Mike Edwards and to Brent’s best friend, Jason Rich. Their love and support during this terrible time is what has carried me through.

Brent will be forever loved and remembered.
