

She was born on September 21, 1940, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Carl and Edna (Scroggins) Crow. Carla was a longtime resident of Elm Grove, Louisiana. She pursued her many creative interests, including quilting, sewing, ceramics, and oil painting. She took her greatest joy in the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and love.
Carla is survived by her husband Thomas G. Gilmartin; daughters, Holly G. Sturdivant, Barrie G. Stephenson (Tommy), Carla G. Taylor (Gene), Linda G. Bienert (Toby); stepson, Tim Miceli (Julia); stepdaughters, Missy Caldwell, Tara Gilmartin, Shana Gilmartin; grandchildren, Thomas Carl (Ashley), Allyson (Christy), Jacob (Brittney), Katy (Shaun), Sydni (Tommy), Cameron, Arlyngton, Madeline, Byron; great grandchildren, Ragan, Lacey, Lucy, Leah, Lane, Charlee and Laynee; and sister, Mary L. Findley. She will be missed by her best friends, Polly and Bitsie, the "Golden Girls".
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Clinton Sturdivant.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Carla's life at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kelly Berne officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
