

Carole Ann Kaplan, 83, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on June 17, 2026 after a brief illness. Born February 14, 1943, in Bernice, Louisiana, Carole Ann was beloved and cherished, remembered with deep affection for her devoted presence and kind-hearted spirit.
Carole Ann graduated from Bernice High School and went on to attend Louisiana Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English, and a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling - a reflection of dedication that would shape her life and work.
For many years, Carole Ann served students and families in education. She taught English, Speech and Creative Writing at Parkway High School in Bossier City, offering not only instruction but also the care and encouragement that so often make a lasting difference. She later continued her career as a high school guidance counselor at Clark High School and Williams High School in the Plano Independent School District in Plano, Texas. Her thoughtful guidance and devotion were a source of support to many.
Carole Ann loved the arts and found joy in paintings and books, returning often to what inspired and uplifted her. She was spiritual, and her connection to Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico, held a special place in her heart- places that brought her peace and a renewed sense of wonder. But her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored and showered with handmade gifts and a grandmother's love.
Carole Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Robert I Mitcham, Jr. and Arlene Mitcham of Bernice, LA; sister, Judy Parish of Minden, LA; half brother, Bobby Mitcham of Monroe, LA; and her son, David Conerly of Bossier City, LA.
She is survived by her daughters, Ainsley Herlehy of McKinney, TX; and Claire Madden of Shreveport, LA; son, John Conerly (Karen) of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Daryl Lynch (Jackie) of Stonewall, LA; Caitlin Herlehy of Dallas, TX; Emily Herlehy of Dallas, TX; Jack Conerly of Ft. Worth, TX; and Mary Conerly of Ft. Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Ivy Lynch and Millie Lynch of Stonewall, LA; brother-in-law, Ed Parish of Minden, LA; and niece, Leigh Ann Parish of MInden, LA.
She will be forever loved and missed dearly by her family and friends.
Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Carole Ann's life on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
