Bossier City, LA – Services celebrating the life of Cecil Jeff Simmons will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Brother Steve Barksdale officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM until service time.
Cecil was born on January 22, 1933 in DeRidder, LA and won his battle with Alzheimer’s on his 86th birthday, January 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He graduated from DeRidder High School in 1951 and dedicated 41 years to the United States Air Force where he retired as Chief Master Sergeant with numerous honors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Lillie Simmons, and his beautiful wife Annie Simmons.
Left to cherish his memories are his brother, Bruce Simmons and spouse Phyllis; daughter, Belinda Simmons Keener and husband Gary; son, Jeffery Simmons; four grandchildren, Jeremy Keener and spouse Kristen, Valerie Keener DeVille and spouse Darren, Jennifer Martz, and Jake Keener and spouse Lauren; six great grandchildren, Emma, Aubrey, Lyndi, Levi, Cayli, and Kade. He was also survived by close friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a devoted husband, daddy, pawpaw and brother that will be greatly missed.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to his precious caregiver Cynthia Combs that greatly enriched our lives over the past 3 years. We would also like to thank Dr. Robert Smith and the staff of Lifepath Hospice.
