Chuck was born on August 17, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia to Cecil and Martha Pitts. He joined the Air Force shortly after graduating from high school and served in the military for 20 years. Chuck was very proud of his service to this country. Chuck married Rhoda Siegel in 1963 and had three beautiful children. Chuck liked to travel, both with his family and even after his children were grown, and often visited Branson, Missouri. He liked classic cars and he and Rhoda, along with friends, enjoyed going to classic car shows. He restored a 1955 Chevy and won an award for it at a car show. Chuck was passionate about helping others. He never hesitated to help some of the families from their old neighborhood in Bossier with mowing their lawns or fixing things around their house. Chuck and Rhoda were married for 38 years, until Rhoda passed away in 2000. In 2001, Chuck married Jearldean Phillips. Chuck’s mission to help others continued as he volunteered with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Posse for thirteen years, helping to do welfare checks, check on stranded motorists, do vacation checks on houses, and other duties to help support his community. Chuck was also an active member of both the Krewe of Elders and Krewe of Artemis. He and his wife, Jearldean, served as Duke and Duchess in 2006 and Mardi Gras King and Queen in 2007 for the Krewe of Elders. They also served as Duke and Duchess for the Krewe of Artemis in 2010. He and Jearldean were also active in both helping plan and competing in the Senior Olympics. His children remember him as a jokester, who was always trying to make others laugh.
