Charlie Raymond Hill devoted his life to family, faith, and hard work. He met the love of his life, Julia Ann Myers, in the summer of 1957, and they were married on November 6, 1959. Together, they raised three children during eleven happy years in Waldo, Arkansas, before relocating to Bossier City in 1963.
Early in their marriage, Raymond invested in rental properties—an endeavor he maintained throughout his life. A skilled machinist by trade, he parlayed his craftsmanship into founding Hill Machine Shop in Shreveport. His reputation for precision, integrity, and mentorship grew alongside his businesses.
That same year he moved to Bossier City, Raymond joined The Pentecostals of Bossier, faithfully attending services for more than five decades and pouring his heart into missionary endeavors.
In January 2019, after many fulfilling years at the shop, Raymond sold his business and embraced retirement. He and Julia spent those years reconnecting with friends and family, exploring new places on vacations—and even embarking on an epic road trip to Alaska and back. Raymond was never too busy to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; their laughter was among his greatest joys.
Always generous with his time and expertise, Raymond also played an instrumental role in launching VCC Janitorial Supply, guiding his son through its earliest days to ensure its success.
Above all, Raymond’s world was his family—his devoted wife Julia, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, faith, and encouragement will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
