Christopher Wayne Downs

Celebration of life service for Christopher Wayne Downs will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Glenn Alderman, Pastor of Belle Park Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

Christopher was a member of Boxer Club of Louisiana. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and dog shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Alpha Downs and his son, Phillip Joseph Downs.

Christopher is survived by his wife Cheryl Matlock; son, Joshua Wayne Downs; daughter, Courtney Downs Boyd and husband James David Boyd, Jr. and grandchildren, Brayden, Ashlyn, and J.D.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Clarkston, Justin Clarkston, Donnie Cox, Jessie Gilmer, Ken Turner, and Joe Trojan. Honorary pallbearer will be Frank Holbrook.

Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or to the charity of their choice.
