Daniel Paul Befort, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. After serving 21 years in the Air Force, he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and became a long term resident of 43 years in Haughton, LA. Dan was known for his warm personality, generous spirit, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Not only was Dan was an accomplished craftsman, he was an extraordinarily talented restorer of classic cars. His passion for detail and love for the classics brought beauty and life back to countless vehicles, and his work earned admiration from many. He had a unique ability to connect with people and never met a stranger—his kindness and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Dan is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia Befort; his loving daughters, Cynthia Abell and Angela Taylor; his cherished grandchildren, Terry, Cailyn, Aidan, Carson, and Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Dan’s request, there will be no formal service. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories and photos to celebrate his life and legacy.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
