Celebration of life service for Daniel LeRoy McCoy, retired U.S. Air Force Tech Sergeant and Vietnam War veteran, will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. Dr. Scott Teutsch will be officiating. Interment will follow in Haughton Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held at Hill Crest on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Daniel was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Haughton. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and leather work. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn McCoy, son, Jim McCoy, brother, Raymond McCoy, and sisters, Gladys Aikman and Winnie Johnson. He is survived by daughter Patty Easter and husband Tony, daughter Kathryn Lee and husband Randy, son David VanZant and wife Jessica, son Tommy VanZant and wife Christy, and 4 sisters, Opal Hoyt, Dorothy Guzman, Francis Smith, and Alice Lamb. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Felicia, TJ, Mandy, Sara, Danielle, Ethan, Jennifer, Jamie, and Ashley, and three great grandchildren Macey, Austyn, and Jackson as well as a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Croft, Zach Tipton, James Copeland, Matthew Copeland, Joey Anwar, Tommy Johnson, Scott Andrews, and Bryan Sims.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Barksdale Air Force base Honor Guard.
