Darrell "Scott" Moss, age 54, of Benton, Louisiana passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023. Scott was born in Minden, Louisiana on June 26, 1969. He loved being in the great outdoors hunting and fishing. Scott liked fishing for bass and catfish with his favorite fishing partner; his grandson, Landon. He enjoyed gardening and had a greenthumb. Scott enjoyed the collecting of historical artifacts and was an avid American history buff. During football season, you always knew Scott could be found supporting his LSU and SAINTS teams. This of course would coincide with perhaps his favorite hobby, which was to throw down on the barbeque for his family and friends. Scott never took for granted living life; always enjoying time spent with his grandbabies.
Scott was preceded in death by his father; Benjamin W. Moss, Jr., maternal grandparents: Thomas and Mary Ellen Ellis, paternal grandparents: Ben and Lois Moss.
Left to cherish Scott's memories will be his parents; Suzanne and William Knighten, five children: Justin Moss and wife Rachael, Kellie Moss Cook and husband Ben, Ian Moss, Zach Moss, Chris Chevalier and wife Andrea, four siblings: Benji Moss and wife Linda, Ashley Moss Brown, Christy Capner and husband Brian, Julie Gaul, eleven grandchildren: Meadow Moss, Brianne Mathews, Joseph Mathews, Landon Cross, Lanie Cook, Lilybeth Cook, Izzabelle Moss, James Ian Moss, Jr., John Gutierrez, Elliana Chevalier, Kaitlyn Runyon, one great-grandson; Drake Runyon, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM until time for the Celebration of Life for Scott will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
