David L. Wheeler

Mr. Wheeler, was born in Shreveport on March 11, 1941 to John and Roberta Wheeler. He was a proud veteran and wonderful man who was always there to help friends and family. He loved wood work and building things. He also enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his grandchildren. He served in the Army and also retired from KCS as an engineer in 1992.

David is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diane Murphy Wheeler, their 4 children, Julie, David, and wife Cindy, Mark and wife Denise, and Patricia and husband Larry; their 8 grandchildren, David and wife Sharlene, Lisa and husband David, Aimee, Nicki, Mark, Emily and husband Justin, Ben, and Dalton; his sister Mary Edmond and brothers, Joe Wheeler and wife Vicki, and Frank Wheeler; sister-in-law Janice Delarso and husband Fred; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Michael Brown; his sister, Betty Hiburg; brothers, John Wheeler and wife Johnnie, Ray Wheeler and wife Eloise, and Jack Wheeler and wife Annabelle; sister-in-law, April Wheeler; brothers-in-law, Pat Murphy and Joe Edmonds.

David was a kind, loving, Christian man. A wonderful husband and father and an amazing grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
