HAUGHTON – A Celebration of Life Service for Debra Jo Orr will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4 2018, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 6-8 p.m.
Debbie Orr was born to Marlin and Barbara Brumley on December 15, 1953 in Shreveport, LA. She passed from this life on March 1, 2018. Debbie had a larger than life personality and was a bright shining light to all she met. She made friends everywhere she went; to say that she never met a stranger is an understatement. Her outgoing personality lit up every room she entered. Debbie was devoted to her family. She loved planning parties and get-togethers with her Enron family, Bahama Tanning family, and her New Orleans Saints family.
Debbie’s husband, children, and grandchildren were her heart. She was the nucleus of her family. She loved spending time with them and doing things for them.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bennie Orr; her sons and daughters-in-law, Blaine and Amber Smith and Max and Crystal Orr; her grandchildren, Kaylee, McKenna, and Cassidy Smith, and Spencer and Autumn Orr; her sister, Janet Brumley; her niece and husband, Julee and Jeremy Botica; and her nephew, Joey Keith. Debbie is also survived by numerous other relatives.
Honoring Debbie as pallbearers will be: Josh Stanley, Rynn Tyler, Steve Sutton, Woody Woodall, Joey Keith, and Rodney Teutsch. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dewayne Stanley, Billy Lynch, Blaine Smith, Dale Teutsch, Max Orr, and Spencer Orr.
Debbie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The world will be dimmer now that her bright light is gone.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and doctors of Christus Highland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
