Delores worked for 30 years at Christus Schumpert Hospital as a Phlebotomist. She was a very loyal associate who supervised and trained many employees in her professional medical field. She obtained many certificates and awards for her dedication. After she retired from the medical field, she enjoyed working part-time at a couple of local gift shops and sewing boutiques.
Delores was an excellent cook and preserved homegrown fruits and veggies with loads of love. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed knitting, monogramming, sewing, needlepoint, and playing cards and dominoes. She was a true servant and enjoyed sewing much-needed items for nursing home patients and homebound church members. She always enjoyed fun trips traveling to the family country home in Saline, Louisiana and making her amazing breakfast meals was another love of Delores’s. She also enjoyed working on challenging puzzles with family while on her little weekend escapes to our family home. But most of all, Delores enjoyed reading the Bible and storybooks with her great-grandchildren. No one can take her place and we will miss her dearly.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Owen Bogue, II and Ellen Pearl Robinson. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Vera Ellen Caldwell and Charlotte Sue Burdue; son-in-law, Mark Steven Burdue; granddaughter, Holly Amber Caldwell; grandson, Hollis Britton Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Byles, Victor Dean Newell, Bella Rose Caldwell; sister, Jannette Ellen Stephenson; and nieces, Lisa Lorraine McBryde, and Laura Kay Burnside.
Graveside services to celebrate Delores’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Lastly, the family would like to extend their sincerest heartfelt appreciation to all of the dedicated physicians and medical staff at Christus Bossier Clinic, Christus Highland ICU and Cornerstone Rehab for your efficiency, professionalism and prayers while taking care of our dearest mother.
