

Donald graduated from Bunkie High School and attended University of Southwestern Louisiana, where he majored in Business and minored in English. A devoted man of faith, he was ordained as a deacon at Morningside Baptist Church.
He was deeply involved in civic and fraternal organizations, serving as Worthy Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Sandman in the Shriners International, a Royal Jester with the Royal Order of Jesters, and Past Master of Broadmoor Masonic Lodge.
Donald was also a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated several businesses throughout his career, and he was widely respected for his work as a tax preparer and for the guidance he provided to many in his community. An avid vegetable gardener, he took great pride in “Don’s Ditch Garden,” where he lovingly grew and shared his harvest with family and friends.
Known for his sharp wit, playful charm, and gift with words, Don never met a stranger. He loved making others laugh and was remembered for his humor, warm spirit, and memorable sayings, including “Don’t Panic,” “Now’s what counts,” and “Get in da cah.”
Don is survived by his wife Martha Bordelon (married April 23, 1960); children, Donna Densmore (Doug), Celia Carr (Jeff), Daryl Bordelon; grandchildren, Adam Densmore, Kenneth Densmore, Benjamin Densmore ( Deanna), Joy Densmore, Hollan Bonola (Jake) Camille Williams, Cage Carr, Crystal Bordelon, Vivian Carr; five great grandchildren; sister, Diane Bijeaux; brother, Glynn Bordelon along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and multiple siblings.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Densmore, Kenneth Densmore, Cage Carr, Kenny Farnell, Clayton Currington, Dr. Jacob Bonola and Mark Amox. Honorary Pallbearer is Adam Densmore.
A visitation for Donald will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. A service will occur Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Clayton Currington, Dr. Manapragada, personnel on the sixth floor at Willis Knighton Pierremont, Daryl Bordelon, Paula McBride, and the Fire Department, station 10 on Line Avenue.
