Doraetta "Dora" McDonald

Doraetta “Dora” McLemore McDonald, 83, of Haughton, LA, was born on October 5, 1942, to parents Carson and Henrietta McLemore. She passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, in Shreveport, LA, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Dora was a woman of strong Christian faith, which guided her throughout her life. She loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment with them. Her gentle spirit, devotion to family, and unwavering faith will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Gordon Wayne McDonald; her father, Carson McLemore; her mother, Henrietta McLemore; her brother, George McLemore; and her sister, Carolyn McLemore Gibson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tina McDonald Laliberte; grandson, Blake Laliberte and his partner, Chesley Jones; granddaughter, Sommer Peck and husband, Austin; great-grandchildren, Ellie Blake Peck, Penelope Jones, and Olivia Jones; sisters, Catherine Maxey, Jewel Roberts and husband Jimmy, and Veanice Koenig and husband Mark; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Larry Bramlett, Brandon Smith, Toby Clemmens, Austin Clemmens, Cameron Barton, and Trevor Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Roberts and Mark Koenig.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Shreveport Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation and Amedisys Hospice Care for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.

Funeral services for Dora will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 20, 2025, in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA, with Dr. Gevan Spinney officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to an organization dedicated to dementia care or research, in honor of Dora’s life and memory.
