Doris was born on September 15, 1926 in Amity, Arkansas and went on to be with her Lord and Savior on November 13th, 2015. She lived in Amity and Texarkana, Arkansas until her brother, Joe, who knew Leo through the Air Force, introduced her to her future husband. Following their wedding, they lived and raised their two children, Denise and Robert, in Bossier City.
Doris and Leo were happily married 58 years and during that time were active members of Bellaire Baptist Church for over 30 years. Doris and Leo had many different hobbies that they enjoyed together. Usually known for their time spent fishing out on the lake, it was complete with Mrs. Baker frequently out-fishing Leo. Doris filled her times with other activities as well, such as: gardening at her home, solving jigsaw puzzles, quilting, and crocheting. As the years went on, her beautiful smile was noticeable every day, and it was given to anyone around her. Doris was always elated to see her grandchildren together, as well as seeing her two great-granddaughters.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, SMSgt Leo S. Baker; father, Lewis Calip Jones and mother, Ruby Jones; two sisters, Alta Faye Garner and Eva Mae Perdue and two brothers, Joe Jones and Charles Jones.
