SHREVEPORT LA – Services for Doris R. Ebersole, 75, will be held on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Skip Noble officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday October 9, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Doris was born December 16, 1936 in Ringgold Louisiana to the parents of Cecil Rowell and Clara McGuire Rowell, and went to be with the Lord October 7, 2012 in Shreveport Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher. Doris was a English and Math teacher for Caddo and Bossier Parish Schools. While she was teaching in the Caddo Parish school system she wrote and put in to place the original Gifted and Talented program. Doris graduated with a B.A. from Centenary College, and received her Master’s plus 30 Degree from L.S.U. Baton Rouge. When she was not teaching she loved to spend time with her family and cook for them, loved tending to her flower beds, was an avid reader and working the New York Times Crossword puzzle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cecil Rowell and Mack Rowell, sister, Dorthea Rowell, son, Jimmy Ebersole and grandson Alan Rogers.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, James P. Ebersole; son, Robert Ebersole; daughter, Sandra Ebersole Rogers; sister, Kay Johnson and husband Mel; Grandchildren, Michael Ebersole and wife Mary, Jason Rogers and wife Grace, Hannah Dodd and husband Colby, Zack Ebersole, Josh Ebersole and Daughter in law Terry Ebersole.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Michael Ebersole, Jason Rogers, Zack Ebersole, Josh Ebersole, Ben Johnson and Phillip Kinsey.
