Dorothy M. Sterling

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy M. Sterling will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Matt Lewis. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. A brief visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Dorothy was born in Nayler, AR on July 11, 1921, and passed away on February 3, 2016. She was a friendly 94 year old with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook, and was always ready with one of her unique “sayings”. In her younger years, Dorothy cared for children in her home and also worked in several military base nurseries. She was our mother, grandmother, and friend. We will miss her every day.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver C. Sterling; son, Joseph Sterling; son-in-law, Bill Lowery; parents, Myrel and Joan Kirchner; and six siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Lowery, and Sandra Pottmeyer and husband James; grandchildren, Rebecca Thomas and husband Matt, Steven Pottmeyer and wife Victoria; and Matt Werner.
