Dossie Lonnette Cheatwood Golden

Dossie Lonnette Cheatwood ”Goldie” Golden was a devout Christian who not only loved her faith but lived it daily. She was a devoted prayer warrior whose kindness and compassion to all exemplified her daily walk with Christ. Goldie was well known for her sharp sense of humor, her wonderful laugh and her beautiful smile that greeted all she encountered. She was also an amazing cook whose adventurous spirit led to her opening and running two separate restaurants. She loved making memories through countless meals for family and friends. Goldie was a beloved mother, a loving grandmother, and a proud great grandmother who prioritized her love for Christ and her family above all else.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Cheatwood; mother, Dossie Louise Cheatwood; sisters, Nancy Gale Sullivan Monk, Peggy Ann Wise, and Laura Lanell Collinsworth.

Dossie is survived by her children, Grady Carlton Golden, Jr. and wife Rachel Johnson Golden of Bossier City, LA, Karen Elizabeth Golden James of Choudrant, LA and David Christopher Golden of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kristen James Watters husband David Watters, Grady Carlton Golden III and wife Lindsey Vierra Golden, William Levi Golden and wife Meagan Maddox Golden, Sydney Elisabeth Brittain Dickson and husband Clayton Rigby Dickson, and Ann Marie Britain; great grandchildren, Madison Grace Watters, Clayton Rigby Dickson, Jr., Beckham Levi Golden, Braydon James Watters, William Sidney Dickson, Hunter Easton Golden, Grady C Golden IV, Henry Maddox Golden, and Ann Marie Elizabeth Dickson; brother, Lonnie Cheatwood Jr, and wife Donna Peterson Cheatwood; sister, Vicki Louise Cheatwood; and brother-in-law, William Kenneth Collinsworth.

A visitation for Dossie will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Old Saline Baptist Church, 5280 Ridge Rd., Castor, LA. Services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Old Saline Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Old Saline Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Grady Carlton Golden, Jr, David Christopher Golden, Grady Carlton Golden III, William Levi Golden, David Watters and Clayton Rigby Dickson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Saline Baptist Church in memory of Dossie Lonnette Cheatwood Golden.
