Earl Calvin Bennett Jr.

Earl Calvin Bennett Jr., born January 9, 1951, went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2026, at the age of 75. A resident of Elm Grove, Louisiana, Jr is remembered for a life marked by an adventurous spirit and a humorous way of connecting with others.

Jr served in the Army as military police during Vietnam. After he returned from service, he became a career locksmith until his retirement. Jr was a member of the American Legion, Koran Post 388.

Adventurous and humorous, Jr loved fishing, playing pool and shooting darts. He enjoyed the simple things in life, never met a stranger, and was known for being outgoing and funny.

Jr is survived by his son, Jody Bennett, Sr. and wife Malonie, of Princeton, LA; daughter, Christy Bennett of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jordan Guillory and fiance Matthew, Chasiti Ferguson and fiance Sam, Keeleigh Newsom and husband Zach, Katelynn Dupre and husband Josh, Jody Bennett, Jr. and wife Brianna, Justin Bennett and Brooklynn Bennett; great grandchildren, Bentley Bennett, Warren Newsom, Aubrey Newsom, Amber Dupre, August Dupre and Braxton Bennett; brothers, Bobby Bennett, Danny Bennett and wife Sandra, and Mickey Bennett; sisters, Jane Braud and husband Larry and JoAnn Walker and husband Steve.

Jr was preceded in death by his father, Earl C. Bennett Sr.; mother, Jewell Chadwick; stepfather, Leo Chadwick; son, Earl C. "Trey" Bennett, III and great grandson, Haysen McDonell.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Jessica Kent Arcement officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jody Bennett, Sr., Jimmy Kent, Jessy Kent, Russell Furgason, Shane Metts and Bubba Sanders.
