

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel in Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be his dear friend, Pastor Steve Petty. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Eddie T. Scott was born on September 15, 1954, in Shreveport, LA. He was the proud son of Willard and Elizabeth Scott, a devoted husband of 46 years to his wife, Karen P. Scott of Bossier City, LA. He was a dedicated father to his children: Jason D. Scott, Daniel T. Scott, Kristen P. Scott, and Britney N. Scott-Brown. He attended and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1972 and went on to college at LSU.
Eddie was known for being a proud “Papaw” to his grandchildren: Kaitlin P. Dayton, Lauren T. Mahaney, Nathan D. Scott, Madison N. Crawford, Tristen T. States, McKenzie E. Pinckley, and Mason States. He was a great-grandfather to Gaige Dayton, “his little buddy,” Luke Dayton, Keegan Dayton, Cohen Bailey, Lively “Cutie” Mahaney, Waylon and River States with three more precious gifts on the way.
Eddie had a brilliant mind for business and became the owner/CEO of J. Graves Insulation, J. Graves Scaffolding, and J. Graves Enterprises, Inc. at the age of 26. He was also the founder and CEO of E.T. Scott Co., LLC. He was known as the hardest-working man and sought after by many for his advice.
He enjoyed being an outdoorsman, duck hunting, and fishing on Lake Bistineau with his beloved sons and grandsons. He always had a project underway and worked on anything and everything. He had a passion for fast cars and the drag strip. He traveled the NHRA circuit and was nicknamed “The Sandman.” He cherished this sport and the special bonding time it provided with his sons, Jason and Daniel. He loved nothing more than to teach or “tell” them how it’s done.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Willard Scott; son, Jason Scott; brother, Barry Scott; grandparents, Norman and “Mother Hyde”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Scott; mother, Elizabeth Scott; children: Daniel Scott and wife Sabrina, Kristen Milligan, Britney Brown and husband Vinson; brother, Michael Scott and wife Jill; sister, Susan Fisher and husband Paul; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Honoring Eddie as pallbearers will be Nathan Scott, Chandler Crawford, Jay Wooley, Paul Fisher, Mark Ponder, Noel Howell IV, Scott Weems, and Mike Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be his brother Michael Scott, Carl Cochran, Glynn Tyler, David Allen, Joey Parks, Abbott Stewart and Larry Dale Frantom.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff of Baylor Medical Center in Dallas for the excellent care Eddie received. The family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org/donate
